This is a film-inspired storytelling project with 12 weeks of themed prompts (3 per week = 36 frames total).

Think of it as your summer visual journal.

Each week builds toward telling a full story of the summer- thoughtful, layered, and yours. You can take self-portraits, family photos, or shots of your surroundings. Prompts are adaptable, and the guides will help you build your story.

You don’t need to shoot film (though it’s encouraged! Just get a disposable one)- but any camera is welcome.

Subscribe by email to get a weekly printable PDF with prompts + tips.

The first guide will be sent on June 3rd and then every following Sunday.

Originally created with 35mm film in mind (hence the 36 exposures), this project is a celebration of seeing, feeling, and noticing. Each week, you’ll receive three themed prompts that build toward a full narrative by season’s end.

You’re invited to shoot on film, but any camera will do—your DSLR, point-and-shoot, Polaroid, or even your phone. The focus is less on the gear and more on shooting and having fun.

Whether you’re documenting sun-drenched adventures, quiet afternoons, or a season of internal change, these prompts are meant to guide you through the art of visual storytelling—at your own pace.

More About the challenge

 Each week’s prompt includes:

• A theme to explore

• Three creative photo prompts

• Technical and creative shooting tips

• Options for self-portraiture, families, or general photography

• Encouragement to play, notice, and express what summer means to you

At the very end there will be a tutorial on how to create a zine with your images and an option to share in a group settings.

Can't wait to spend the summer with you!
